Charles Xiuzhi Dong, an award-winning director and cinematographer, based in both the United States and China. He obtained his degree from the NYU Tisch School of the Arts and further honed his skills through a directing fellowship at the American Film Institute in 2020. His short films have been showcased at renowned film festivals worldwide. Notably, "After Class" (2020) screened at Santa Barbara, Oberhausen, and the Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia, where it won the esteemed Best Short Award. "Anshan Diaries" (2021) achieved recognition as a finalist in the Student Academy Awards, captivating audiences at its premiere during the 65th San Francisco International Film Festival. "Langue" (2022) made its debut at the 2022 Palm Springs International Shortfest and the 2023 Pingyao International Film Festival, earning a Special Jury Mention for cinematography at the 2022 Nowness Short Film Awards. Dong's latest film, "A Quiet Night in Monterey Park," had its premiere at the 44th Cairo International Film Festival.
